Trakehner Stallions Owned and Trained by Erin Brinkman
Elite Stallion, Donaufurst
Donaufürst is an amazing horse that has charmed us with his dual career. In his first 5 years as a hunter in Canada, he won championship after championship. Following this, he went FEI dressage after only two years of training. The reason for his success is spoken of in his Olympic pedigree. His father, Mahagoni, sent many stallions to Grand Prix Dressage, as the famous Peron showed us by medaling in the 1996 Olympics. Through his Dam, Donaufahrt vom Shimmelhof, the full sister to Donauwind, the sire of Olympic jumping silver medalist Abdullah.
We are proud to offer Donaufürst to the Oldenburg/ISR Registry! At age 18, and also after an injury, this stallion won his testing along with 12 other younger stallions! Donaufürst is the sire of five Trakehner Stallions!
Don is a very kind, intelligent horse and I have found him absolutely honest in his commitment to learn. I feel very lucky to own him, and to offer this incredible horse to the United States for breeding.
Don is the only Trakehner in the United States or Germany to produce three approved sons his first year of breeding. Don's bloodlines combine the Olympic Superstars of Jumping and Dressage, through Abdullah (Sired by Donauwind, the full brother to Don's Dam, Donaufahrt vom Schimmelhof) and Peron (Sired by Mahagoni also Don's sire)
Donaufürst is one of the last sons of the famous Mahagoni. Mahagoni was ranked tenth in the world for producing competitive CDI Grand Prix Dressage Horses internationally for the last ten years.
Donaufürst was evaluated by the German Verband in 1998, earning the exceptional scores of 9 for walk, 8 for trot, 9 for canter, and 9 for temperament.
Donaufürst began his career in Canada where he won numerous championships in Hunter/Jumper competitions. His offspring there continue to bring in hundreds of Hunter Championships.
Donaufurst passed away in 2014 at the age of 30.
